Transcend's global sales revenue reaches US$79.71 million in December with a record-high 9.96 million units shipped

Transcend's global sales revenue for the month of December totaled US$79.71 million, which is a growth of 11.16% compared to US$ 71.71 in the previous month, and an increase of 3% compared to US$77.39 in December 2007. As for the company's monthly product shipment breakdown, flash memory products contributed to 67.13% of sales, while DRAM modules accounted for 21.41%. New product lines including digital music players, portable hard drives and digital photo frames amounted to 11.46% of the company's total sales revenue.

In addition, Transcend's combined total product shipment reached a record breaking total of 9.96 million pieces in December. This marks an increase of 103.56% compared to the figures from the same period last year. The major contributors to this total were flash-based products, of which 8.38 million units were shipped, amounting to a YoY growth of 131.59%. Shipments of DRAM-based products totaled 1.28 million pieces, and new product lines reached 300,000 pieces, with a YoY growth of 179.93%. Amid these products, last month's shipment of flash cards achieved a record-high 5.76 million units, and shipment of digital photo frames reached a new 23,000 unit high. In terms of average memory capacity of devices sold in December, Transcend's average flash memory card capacity was 2.69GB, while its average flash drive was 4.09GB, and the average capacity of DRAM modules sold was 1.48GB.

Looking into 2009, Transcend expects substantial shipment and sales revenue increases for both DRAM and NAND flash-based products. In the meantime, Transcend will continue to develop innovative new products to provide an attractive and varied product selection for design-conscious consumers. Furthermore, Transcend will continue to strengthen its brand identity and increase global market share throughout the year by increasing its presence at shows and events, opening more Transcend Stores in strategic markets, and further improving the quality of its after-sales service.
