What is HEIC/HEVC?

HEIF (High Efficiency Image Coding) / HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) is a new shooting technology adopted by Apple that will effectively save storage space.

Who are supported:

Creating & saving files in the HEIC / HEVC format: iOS devices that feature an A10 CPU (or above), such as the iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone 8.

Playing HEVC videos: devices with an A9 CPU (or above), such as the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

Displaying HEIC images: iOS11 or later.

The photo browser of Transcend's "for iOS" applications, such as the JetDrive Go app or the SmartReader, does support this file type, but if you would like to move or drag the HEIF/HEVC files to the Camera Roll, the file type needs to be supported by you iOS device as well.
